Meet Dr. April Clift

Dr. April Clift grew up throughout the southeastern United States, where frequent moves fostered a deep appreciation for the uniqueness of people, places, and microcultures. She earned her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, where she also led an Applied Behavioral Analysis team. This early clinical experience solidified her interest in using behavioral interventions to support individuals facing psychological challenges.

Dr. Clift went on to receive her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of  South Florida. She completed her pre- and post-doctoral training in Chicago, with a focus on anxiety disorders and trauma.

Her early career was spent serving Veterans with a wide range of mental health conditions and a high degree of complexity. During this time, she was promoted to lead a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychiatrists, and RN’s, recognized for her ability to improve service delivery and manage high-performing teams. Eventually, Dr. Clift transitioned to private practice after noticing a gap in accessible, high-quality, evidence-based care—particularly for obsessive-compulsive disorders, phobias, and trauma.

Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys yoga, traveling, reading, diving, and spending quality time outdoors. During your sessions, you may also catch a glimpse of her canine assistant, George.
